Stedfast

Terms of Service

The plain-English rules of the road.

Last updated: 2026-05-20. By using Stedfast you agree to these terms.

What Stedfast is

Stedfast is a software tool for tracking household preparedness inventory — kits, items, expiration dates, rotation schedules. It is not a substitute for emergency response, professional medical advice, legal counsel, or expert guidance on firearms, food safety, water treatment, or anything else listed in your inventory. Use it to remember what you have. Use your own judgment for everything else.

The deal

The Stedfast iOS app is free to download and free to use without an account.

Stedfast Sync is a one-time $9.99 In-App Purchase that unlocks cloud backup, multi-device sync, and sharing. The purchase is non-recurring (no subscription) and family-shareable per Apple’s App Store rules — one purchase serves your iCloud Family.

Refunds for IAP go through Apple. Stedfast doesn’t issue refunds directly — you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@stedfast.app immediately if you think something’s been compromised.

You can close your account any time. When you do, your server-side data deletes within 30 days. Local data on your phone stays until you delete the app.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Stedfast to:

  • Coordinate or store inventory for unlawful activity
  • Harass anyone via the household or share-invite features
  • Attempt to break, probe, or reverse-engineer the service
  • Scrape, mass-download, or republish other users’ data
  • Impersonate someone else

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules. We’ll explain why and give you a chance to export your data first when we can.

Your content

The kits, items, notes, and photos you create stay yours. You grant us only the limited permission we need to store and serve them back to you (and to people you share with). We don’t use your content to train anything, build marketing materials, or share it with third parties.

Sharing with other households

When you share a kit with another household, you’re granting that household access to that kit’s contents. You can revoke the share any time. We don’t take a position on what you choose to share or with whom.

No warranty

Stedfast is provided as-is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can’t guarantee it’ll never have bugs, never be down, or be appropriate for your specific preparedness goals. You’re using it at your own risk.

Specifically: an item being marked “OK” in Stedfast is not a guarantee that the item is safe, fresh, or functional. Always inspect critical items (medications, water, food, defensive equipment) before relying on them.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, Stedfast and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the prior 12 months — for most users that’s $0, and for Sync users it’s $9.99.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that legally can’t be limited (gross negligence, fraud, etc.).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes get a new “last updated” date and a heads-up in the app the next time you open it. Continued use after the change means you agree to the new version.

Termination

You can stop using Stedfast any time. We can terminate accounts for the acceptable-use violations above, or if we shut the service down entirely. If we ever shut down, we’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice and a clear path to export your data.

Governing law

Stedfast operates from Oregon, USA. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Disputes go to the state and federal courts of Multnomah County, Portland, Oregon — unless small-claims court is appropriate.
